Sunday Doesn't Have to Be Perfect

Sunday can be a beautiful day for slowing down, worship, family time, and preparing for the week ahead.

But sometimes Sunday arrives with a mountain of laundry, a refrigerator that needs filling, and a to-do list that somehow grew overnight.

It's easy to feel as though we have to accomplish everything before Monday.

We don't.

Faith reminds us that rest has value, too. We don't have to earn every quiet moment by finishing every chore.

Maybe today looks like church and a big family dinner. Maybe it looks like leftovers, a walk outside, and an early bedtime.

Both can be good days.

Try choosing just three things that would make tomorrow easier: prepare one meal, straighten one space, and set out what your family needs for the morning.

Then give yourself permission to enjoy what's left of the day.

Call someone you love. Sit beside your family. Watch the leaves change. Say a prayer of gratitude.

The week ahead will have its own responsibilities.

Today, make room for grace.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
