Sunday Evening: A Softer Start to Monday

How does Sunday evening arrive so quickly?

One minute we're enjoying the weekend. The next, we're looking for missing shoes, thinking about work, and wondering what everyone will eat tomorrow.

If your house feels like that, you're in good company.

We've learned that the best Sunday-evening routine isn't the most elaborate one. It's the one your family can actually follow.

Start by looking at tomorrow's schedule. Are there school activities, appointments, work commitments, or errands that need extra preparation?

Then handle the little things that tend to cause morning stress.

Put backpacks and bags near the door. Choose tomorrow's clothes. Prepare an easy breakfast. Make sure devices that need charging are plugged in.

If you have time, spend ten minutes tidying the spaces your family uses most.

But don't turn the evening into another workday.

Make time for a family conversation. Ask everyone what they're looking forward to this week. If something is worrying them, give them a chance to talk about it.

End with a little encouragement, a prayer, or simply a reminder that tomorrow is a fresh start.

There will always be more to do.

The goal isn't a perfect Monday. It's a family that feels ready to face it together.
